Mysterious and Reassuring
I just finished the Dead Like Me re-watch marathon and now, thanks largely in part to the BoB re-watch, I shall be marathoning SGA. Except season five. I like to pretend season 5 doesn't exist.
So, mom's CAT scan didn't show anything, but she still has pain so we're all :/ I have to go to the doctor b/c whoops, those blood pressure pills are running out and I don't have any re-fills left. Of course, since my workpalce doesn't post our schedule online, I can't do anything about it until Monday. Here's hoping I have Wed. off and Dr. Zoret has a 15 min window. (Seriously, all I need for her is to take my blood pressure, see that, yup, still need meds, get prescription and go). I'll do the big huge hey it's bloodwork time appt in Dec.
Ah, work. So, right now, we, as a grocery store, are running a donation thing for the local food banks of CLT. You can donate $5 or $20. I don't ask everyone and god knows, I know people can't afford it. The two people I've had who picked the $20 both did it of their own accord. What cracks me up is that a) some people get offended I even ask and b) most of these people are the ones buying 5 bottles of wine and a $30 can of crab meat. And I totally understand people donate to their own things, but don't be offended over someone asking you to donate to a foodbank. Esp. when it's part of their job.
In writing news:
I am really tempted to do a version of Cajun Night Before Christmas. I loved the book as a kid and need to get my hands on a copy. Apparently there's an Hillbilly version too. Who knew?
Other than that progress is...interesting. I was trying to write Kitty-the-hacker today but then I started pondering Spina backstory and why he went into the medical field even though he didn't want to. (Answer: Mom was an Army surgeon and he's following in the family footsteps. Also, hi, M*A*S*H you never influence things).
But I really do what to polish up that part that explains how Speirs is like, the lynchpin of the verse. And also the part with the Deliverance jokes made by Luz. Oh, and Babe Heffron vs. The Nutria.
And, yeah, Hillbilly Jones mix pt. 3...already begun.
Oh, one last fandom related thought: I really, really want an lj comm in my life that is nothing but love for The Pacific/Band of Brothers b/c a) we need more crossover love in the fandoms b) there's already a ton of crossover in the fandom and c) I won't feel like a heel crossposting to both fandoms fic comms. IDK so much of the verse is epic bromance or outright gen that I just don't know where to post on the Band of Bros side. Perhaphs the soultion is just to make a Band of Bromance comm. Which I just accidently created when trying to see if the name was available. Whoops. :/
EDIT: Eeeeeeee! Bobby Cannavale is on my tv right now, doing a guest role in Blue Bloods. With Donnie, who is there each week. So much tie and suit porn right now, I can't take it. /fangirl squee. Sorry, it's just Bobby Cannavale's been my tv-boyfriend since Third Watch and I was not expecting to see him tonight.
