feeling like it's time for an Austen adaptation marathon

Though, that's probably b/c in the modern-day-war-fandom-au-of-never-ending-ohmyjesus, Eddie and Haldane are kind of like my own Anne Elliot and Capt. Frederick Wentworth.

Anyway, time for some good news: Grandma is out of the hospital. I talked to her yesterday; she's tired, of course, but didn't sound too bad. I can't wait to see her in Dec. Which, yeah, I'll be in the Nashville area from the 10th-13th enjoying some time with my Grandparents, my Aunt and my Uncle. Mom can't come b/c of Carrie's situation, but Andrew's bringing Nicole to meet the Grandparents. My Aunt Krissy has promised to take me down to Nashville to see the Parthenon. I am excited, even if it will cost me four days of work, it's four days of being somewhere else.

The big plan for the 2011 is to get my ass to D.C. though. I want to see Holley, and the National Mall, but mostly Holley.

In fandom-ish news: So, last night, I was going to let my inner fangirl rule out over being an adult, and join in the final re-watch of "Currahee." I knew it meant I would only get, like, 6 hours of sleep, but damn it, it would be worth it, I told myself. I got as far as signing into the chat, getting ready to re-watch and be internet social, when I was called downstairs by my sister's nurse to be talked at. I still only got about six hours of sleep and a headache. Boo. Luckily the work schedule will let me partcipate in the re-watch chat this week. Hopefully. As long as I don't get a random call in to work.

Speaking of, shit almost went down at work today. Look, my job is standing on my feet for 8 hours, lifting, twisiting, turning, bagging etc. I am pretty much in constant pain, but normally I can get through it b/c we have a 15-min break and a lunch. I clocked in at 8:30, got my 15-min break at 10:34 and didn't get my lunch break until 3:02pm. I left at 4:35pm. It always happens with this one manager, who apparently hates me, and likes to send every other person who clocks in after me to lunch first. This is the second time where I've had to go to another CSM and be all, "Look, I leave in two hours, I'm on an eight hour shift, can I please either have my lunch or be let go 30 mins early?" I am happy to have a job and a paycheck, but seriously, this shit cannot stand. Job Search 4.0 is about to start.

Sherlock airs on PBS tonight. I am v. excited as yes, I still have yet to watch it. I thought BBCA OnDemand would have it, but that didn't happen.

Now, back to being a dork and reading through my Smithsonian magazine. (So many great articles in this issue.)
