So, it's been a day. I had to call into work telling them I wasn't going to be in today due to family emergency. And it was a whopper of a one

My sister has a severe case of cerebral palsy, which has made her both physically and mentally handicapped from birth. She's a quadraplegic, non-verbal and eats through a g-tube among other things. She's on the mental level of a 10-12 year old, we're guessing, since there is no proper way to quantify her abilites. In general, she's really pretty healthy. She just has a weakend immune system for obvious reasons and is pretty susceptible to pneumonia, which is apparently the cause of her current hospital stay. The hospital is the magical land of massive IV super drugs and oxygen. It's a long story, but she's one tough chick.

And thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My family def. appreciates them.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family right now. I hope Carrie gets out of the hospital soon. When you go back to visit her, give her a hug for me. *hugs*

Thanks, Holley. She is home now, mostly b/c even the hospital staff had to admit they didn't know how best to treat her. She's breathing on her own, but still coughing a whole bunch of gunk up. It's going to be a tense few days until she's better.
