TV musings
So, I was feeling all nostaglic the other day, and decided to re-watch the many seasons of CSI I own. I am currently on Season Three, getting ready to work my way up to Greggo going boom in the lab, when who should I spy playing a teenage pervert in "One Hit Wonder," but The Pacific's Joseph Mazzello. Talk about range. Also, I now have "Teenage Dirtbag" in my head.
Re-watching the many CSI seasons, I have come to a few realizations:
-I miss the old school days of Bobby Dawson, Archie, Jackie, and lab-rat Greg.
-Warrick; I miss early-seasons Warrick as compared to later-seasons.
-I pretty much adore every Lady Heather episode.
-There used to be some decent banter on this show. What the hell happened?
-There used to decent cops. What the hell happened to them too?
I've also started watching Castle. I'm only four episodes in and I'm enjoying it. One thing I do have to respect, the female dectective and the female coroner both dress as you would expect actual people who hold these postions to dress. No CSI:Miami bs here.
I have picked the one new tv show I will def. be watching come this fall. It's called Blue Bloods and is about a multi-generational Irish-American New York Cop family. It has Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynihan, and Donnie Walhberg and even though CBS has put it on Fridays (oh, such a kiss of death), I am hoping against hope I will enjoy it. And it will survive. We shall see. Fridays as a kick-off? Not a good sign.
In other news:
The Gaslight Anthem have released another song off their upcoming album. It's called "Boxer." I love the beat and, as always with this band, the lyrics. God, I love this band so much. I've only heard two songs off this ablum and I am pretty sure I'm going to love it. On the one hand, I do want them to blow up b/c they deserve it for just how great they are, but on the other hand~~~I don't want to let my indie band go. Still, part of me dies when someone goes "Who?" when I talk about them and I tend to reply with a "How do you not know?" Hi, I'm Shannon, and can sometimes be dipshit-hipster-ish and an elitist. Also, I love my Classic Rock and esp. adore new bands who replicate that sound but with a new twist.
