Right, so, Supernatural

So, the general thought in my head right now is, "Um, what?" b/c in 15 mins we went from end of the world, dead Cas, DEAD BOBBY, to alive Cas all magically angel leveled-up and Bobby alive again, and OH YEAH, CHUCK IS GOD! Like, WTF? Serious, I can't get beyond the "WTF"

Though at the start, the Devil quoted "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," which is awesome, and a classic rock shout-out, but why would you quote one of the most famous songs about the Devil getting his ass beat when you are the Devil? I mean, you're Satan, it's not like you need false bravado, and if you don't lie, or don't need to, then does that mean you used the reference for the direct purpose of knowing Sam would win, at least for a little while? And okay, maybe I'm getting far too meta about this, but that part just won't leave my mind.

But seriously, if Chuck=god, then god is a fanfic writer who is down with the slash. I kind of love this.

If this had been the end all of SPN, I actually would have been okay. Yeah, it's partly a clip show, but it was a nice sum up of the past five seasons. Now it stands as the closing of a chapter of myth-arc, and of course the question of what comes next arises, but honestly, you sort of can't top the end of the world. And really, compared to other end-of-series episodes, (SGA, I am looking STRAIGHT at you), it kind of kicks ass based on Chuck's narration alone. And that's the part I think I loved the most, was Chuck's thoughts on endings. Which gets so meta-meta in terms of writing for tv shows, Kripike's own ego, and the rice paper thin 4th wall of SPN fandom, but yeah, I know some people are all, "No, Dean can't just have some apple pie life!?!" And you know what, no, he probably can't, but all warriors need to rest their heads for a bit.

Though I would love to see Death and/or the Reapers again.

I don't know, my brain's still kind of mush. I'll need to re-watch this episode a few times to get it all to be coherent, but, um, yeah, so that was the end of season five.

wtf?, spn, tv
