goddamnit
Bob Bryar is no longer the drummer for MCR.
It sucks, a lot. A fuck ton. And I need about 50 billion hugs right now, but, god. At least someone came out and told us, at least it was Frank. At least we now know why what seemed like a bunch of pre-album press stopped. Why the album date kept getting pushed back. Why there was no lead single. Why the shows in AUS got canned (which, okay, Gerard's voice too, apparently). Also, explains the general radio silence of everyone. Including MikeyWay. Just, it seemed like a stupid rumor from a no-name site, that everyone dismissed and no major music blog carried out as real and then it turned out to BE real and wtf?
I just hope that this time we find out why. It's still a big mystery over the hows and whys of the first drummer's leaving, other than some bs about how he refused to play a certian way. They don't even speak his name. It's just, "The first drummer, the original drummer." I hope they don't do that with Bob. I really, really do. I don't want Bob to disappear. And I know part of it may very well be health reasons. His wrists are fucked up, from playing for that band as hard as he could, and even with surgery and trying to learn play a new way, MCR has some pretty intense drum parts, esp. TBP songs, and just...I can't really be coherent about it right now.
I just want to know WHY, but I don't know if we'll ever find out.
OTOH, Bob never wanted nor craved the spotlight. He was a sound guy, that's what he went to school for, clearly something he loved and was good at. You can't blame a guy for wanting to go back to a nice, quiet life, probably in Chicago. Just, I'll miss Bob Bryar and his special brand of Badass.
