to talk of HAPPY things.
First off, The Hobbit film-making/Tolkien estate lawsuit has been settled. This is very happy making. The movie is one step closer to a reality.
Second, I am currently doing my first listen-through of A Fine Frenzy's new album, Bomb In A Birdcage. I was going to hold off on buying it, but amazon has the MP3 download of the whole album for $3.99. I'm only two songs in, but I quite like it. It's more pop-folk than her last album. She seems much more confident on this one, and, as I said, that's only two songs in and I get this sense from her. I think she is still trying to find her signature sound though, and she's doing a good job of expanding beyond her previous girl-and-a-paino bit.
Third: SPN in days! ANTM tomorrow! I am watching Melrose Place tonight to torture myself to see just how bad it is, but I kind of love Katie Cassidy, so I'm torn.
EDIT: Re:New!Melrose Place. Katie did a kick-ass job, but big surprise there. The guy who plays Auggie, I think, also a good actor. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was not as bad as I thought she was going to be, but still, hell of an opener scene or two there. Not the worst thing ever, not good, but I don't feel like I wasted an hour of my life, so that's good.
