Panic at the Disco

For serious.

So PatD pretty much split right down the middle with Ryan and Jon now as their own future band of what I am sure will be laid-back hippie awesomeness and Brendon and Spencer still Panic !/no! at the Disco with some other future members but still awesome. Reason: Different music directions. Honestly, I am much happier that they had a mostly amicable split and decided not to stay together making music they didn't like/didn't believe in/didn't want to do and making themselves and eventually their fans miserable. With such different sounds between "Fever" and "Pretty.Odd" I'm surprised it didn't come sooner. Only hiccup is that Ryan was the primary lyricist and Brendon was their voice. (I actually really love Brendon's voice, a lot, it's probably one of my favorite melodic male singing voices I've heard in years.) Some people are, of course, devestated by this. I, alas, am used to my bands crumbling to pieces and my fandom's going batshit. SGA, anyone? I'm just looking forward to more music.

Speaking of SGA. I really do consider it an insult to open up my SGA Season 5 DVD set, have no special send-off feature for the 5 seasons of SGA and to have an advert for SG-1 slapped in my face. It really did harsh my mellow as I forgot I pre-ordered the season and was trying to figure out what the hell amazon sent me before I opened it. I still haven't seen most of the season, and I know I won't love it as much as season three (my all time favorite...even with exploding space tumors) but it's still something to watch.

Lastly: TORCHWOOD. I still love you. Even if you are fucking insane! You are your own special kind of awesome.

Part-time weekend work search is still a bust. I have to check the MFA though. I am so down with doing coat-checks as long as I get another pay check out of it. I know I'll be okay until October, but I want the second job now, damn it. If I move back to CLT though, I'm taking a year to settle down/re-learn how to drive/find place to live/get a job of some kind and then I am applying to the PhD program at UNC-CLT.

patd, bandom, torchwood, tv, work sucks, real life, sga, !/no!, clt, panic at the disco
