Not dead yet

Right, so, life has been crazy these past few weeks and shows no sign of letting up until June. It's just one of those everything is coming at once and work is leaving me exhausted and brain dead which means my grad school work piles up which means my weekends are full of all my errands and all my grad work. I'm starting to get to dangerous levels of apathy, and with the warmer weather comes a restlessness that does not keep my inside working on the weekends where I need to be. And allergies. Oh, how I hate the allergies.

Anyway, I finally have a dvd player that works! It's powered by USB and normally used for laptop-minis, but it works with Vista and it plays dvds with very little start up delay. I am so happy. I can, like, actually watch movies again and not feel like I'm wasting money on Netflix. I have two here to watch, "Wanted" and "Milk," and I think I will like both.

I've started both spring cleaning and cleaning for my mother's visit. I trying to hide all the yaoi behind all my other ten thousand books or in storage boxes. I also now own so many token books they no longer fit on the one shelf devoted to them and let's not even start the talking about how many books I have regarding events during WWII. Not counting the stuff in my storage locker, I think I have close to fifty books on the subject in my apartment alone. I really need another bookshelf. Right now everything is piled up in stacks or in boxes with dubious labels of "Holocaust" "Fascism-Italy" "Nazis" "Crazy Ass Stalin" "Greece and Balkans" and "Atomic Einstein." Apartment still looks like a bomb hit it because I am cleaning out everything and of course the trash bins are already full.

Now on to tv:
Antm is kind of "eh" this season. I don't have a favorite. SPN was sort of funny on thursday, though I kind of wished I watched the 200th episode of CSI instead. HIMYM made me laugh my ass off, the Murdock list indeed. I do so love Lethal Weapon. No one can tear me away from my cheesy 80s action flicks. I missed NCIS, so who knows what that was this week.

Best purchase of the week: I bought a pair of Doc Martens for $47.00. I went to DSW to buy new tennis shoes for work and then I browsed the clearance rack and found the only pair of Doc Martens there, in my size, with a good grip sole on them on sale for 50% off. I've been looking for a good pair of non-winter boots for ages and have debated over buying some off Doc Martens online, but I really don't like spending over $100 on a single pair of shoes. I am so very happy with my find. They're not combat boots, which I had planned to buy to replace my beloved old pair (which are over 10 years old), but they are still a really nice set of boots.

Now, back to work. I have to answer a discussion question on which regime out of Italy, Germany, and Soviet Russia was the most interesting (Italy) and which was the most dangerous (to the people of one's own country--Soviet Russia; to everyone else in the world--Germany) and touch up my Capstone. Again.
