The absolutely most frustrating thing about this entire situation is being able to do nothing except wait.
My restoration appointment is between 1:00 and 3:00. I've tried to find out from the HOA if their insurance covers the expense because if it doesn't I need to start ripping carpet now to save myself some money. And I can't do that until my rep calls in to work and then the lady I talked to there can call me back with that information.
And I'm still waiting for the insurance claims person to contact me.
I really need something useful to do otherwise I may just go crazy.
Edit:: 11:17 T hey actually got here at 10:00 or so. Not too shabby. Huge swaths of carpet have been pulled up and carted off. There are several points were I seem to have gotten very lucky, with water not seeping up in the drywall as far as it could have and/or not traveling as far into rooms any worse than it did. This doesn't change that I need new carpeting downstairs, but for some reason it's a little reassuring that the damage isn't as extensive as it might have been.
