I woke up at 7:00 this morning. Without the alarm. Delightful.
At 7:30 I put in a call to the claims office of my insurance company, where I answered a great many questions and was told there was the possibility that they would not cover the damages because the line that broke probably wasn't mine. I'll know more after whatever claims adjuster they assign me to talks to the HOA and comes out here to have a look around.
For those whom it matters - the thing you might want to have is called a "Backup Sewar and Drain Adjustment", and not having that - not even knowing that such a thing was available, let alone necessary - may make this adventure even more of an adventure than it's already becoming.
At 8:05 or so I called one of the restoration companies the insurance claim lady recommended. A local representative is supposed to call me within an hour.
And at 8:15 I called my boss to confirm she knows that I wasn't coming in this morning. She did get the message and told me she assumes I'm out for the day. A good call on her part, now that I understand just how long a process this is going to turn into.
8:53 - restoration company just called.
