I went to an 18+ event at the science museum last night. More kid-oriented museums should do this, it's so much fun, even from a wheelchair! I got to see Saturn, the moon, the jewel box and orion through telescopes, as well as an awesome planetarium show and the classic mentos and diet coke trick that I've never done at home because of the mess factor.
I woke up this morning with smiles to Autumn sunshine, heated floors and a fluffy robe. After pottering for a while, I caught a tram down to Fitzroy (this is still a big expedition for me), had a quiet coffee on a crisp sunny morning a comfy cafe. Funny how what feels to me like a fine day in Wellington is cold enough here that the streets are nearly empty!
Emboldened by my success, I went to the gym. No kidding. I'm getting that flabby and that crazy! Apparently, if you go to the gym on crutches, people think you're Chuck Norris, rather than just incredibly restless and tired of sitting on your arse.
Later on, a friend is coming over who won't mind if I climb all over him to satisfy my skin hunger and cuddle-deprivation. I'm lucky to have indulgent friends.
Work is still pretty hit and miss, but I think the rest of my life is coming right.
