With winter coming on I went out seeking steel cut oats for slow-cooked porridge. I was disappointed to find none at the organic grocery or Moore Wilsons, so I put it on my to do list to look on the internet. A quick google for 'steel cut oats NZ' reveals that this is a common problem :( Next time someone asks me what I need from the US, the answer is steel cut oats!
