I had a long, head-scratching conversation with my project manager about the project I'm working on, and came to the shared conclusion that we *think* I'm a lot closer to finishing the next stage than we knew. This sort of uncertainty is part of the territory when no one's sure what the final product looks like.
Caught up over lunch with a colleague I don't see much anymore. Most of the kiwis at work think he's a swot and a tall poppy; after years of grad school, those things just don't bother me. I see those things and like him anyway because he's smart and motivated.
The universe seems to have found me again after a while of
flying under the radar. People are popping up wanting my time and contributing to my life in interesting ways. I'm still not thrilled about winter, but it's no longer stretching out before like an interminable sentence.
The weather was milder than expected for firespinning, which is always a plus. There was no music, and I wasn't on great form, but there were firejugglers, which is an awesome addition. I also got to teach someone how to hoop, which is always a pleasure. Even though I'm grumpy about going in anything other than warm weather, I'm usually glad I did.
Jez used his brute strength PhD in welding to fix the angles of my curtain rods. Combined with the drapery header I got this evening, this is very close to completion! I need a coupler from the hardware store (because coupling is always better with accessories, right?), and some screwing (since I've established a risque theme), and the hardware will be complete. Then the drapes themselves need a bit more work, and we'll be away! *happy dance of warmth and redness*
Also, I have a lap cat :)
