O.K. So, Sunday morning, I was going through my mail, and I got a notice from a credit monitoring company that modifications had been made to my credit report.
I logged in and there was a ding on my credit for $132. Said I'm past-due more than 120 days.
First off, I've never heard of this collection company.
Second off, I don't know of ANY debts for $132. It's awfully close to my cable bill, but not right.
Third, I've never been contacted by them. At ALL.
So, I called and called. Finally, this morning, I got through. They told me it was for my old apartment. The crap apartment that had leaks in the walls and carpet damage due to their failure to maintain the apartment. The crap apartment that I complained repeatedly about the doors that didn't lock, close or seal properly. The crap apartment that had bugs, mice and other nasties I don't even want to think about. The crap apartment that we filed 55 things that needed to be fixed, and they fixed 2. The crap apartment I should have sued them about their breaches of the lease. The crap apartment that I filled out a 15 month lease for only to find that they'd had me fill out an update form which somehow cancelled out the 15 month part and replaced with a 12 month contract. The crap apartment that I ended up getting told that my rent was about to go up over 30% for another year's rental.
Well, they're going to have some problems. I went on my Wachovia account and found the check to them. They've never paid me back my security deposit, and they have the $132 and they have dinged my account and a big problem. So, I'm going to have their hides for lunch.
So, last night, I went to go play poker at Shooters. It's a decent little smokey pool hall. It was so smokey, that when I got a drink, and left it in my car overnight, I took a sip this morning, and it tasted like I was drinking from an ashtray.
