Close encounter #2:

After the Richard/Chad/Brock panel, I decided it was time to eat. Haagen Dazs. Yes, I ate junk all weekend. I'm on my way over via the mini-jungle atrium skywalk. Who's coming in the opposite direction? Richard. I was totally cool, bbs. I smiled and he saw my con badge and we traded hellos. I did not kidnap him and feed him Dove Unconditional Chocolate ice cream, ask him to take me home--Nashville's his hometown--or offer to be his bodyguard. I did want to ask him how the heck he could wear a long-sleeved coat he had on at panel when it was 95 frelling degrees outside.

The story is that someone on one of the computer boards had threatened to throw a used tampon at Misha's head because he was playing god. Do I need to rant about how stupid I think that is? Thought not.

So at last year's Bascon they were giving out ribbons to stick on your con badge. So I picked 'No Whining' and 'Official Smarty Pants'. I'd decided I was giving Misha was latter at the autograph signing session.

Misha's panel:

Crazy, crazy Misha. Where do I even start? He couldn't even wait until the curtain came completely up before he ducked under it.

He revealed that Castiel was supposed to die during S6, but didn't elaborate on why he didn't.
A fan asked him to do the 'pizza man' line. He did his Cas face and said "No". No amount of coaxing could get him to do it. X)

I was headed out somewhere when I ran into this fan in the elevator. She also had Anna, Ruby S4, and Dean with her. I could have been their Sam. I've got the hair!

Misha posted this after the panel. I thought this version was funnier. Undercover!Misha.

He also talked about Random Acts and how he, Matt, and a group of people are headed down to Haiti on the 20th to build an orphanage with the $150,000 raised by the charity. He also auctioned off his signed script from The Man Who Would Be King. He initially asked (jokingly) for $2,500 dollars. As the auction went on, someone said they'd pay more if he came with the script. With Misha silliness, he pulled out an eyelash and tucked it in the script. He got his $2,500.

I'm waiting in line for Richard's autograph and I saw a fan was holding a plastic toy rhino with autographs. She ran a charity and was going to auction it off online. She was collecting signatures at the Sunday morning breakfast. Misha came up, signed it and as he was talking to them, he stuck it in his pocket. She asked for it back twice, but he walked away with it. While she was discussing with her tablemates about the best way to get it back without putting his bodyguards on alert, Chad came over and asked what was wrong. She told him. Chad chased after Misha and wrestled it back from him!

I told Richard as he was signing my pic that it was my first con and that he was one of the main reasons it was so memorable. He thanked me and wrote the 'Happy 1st con!' What a sweetheart. I can't wait until Three Blind Saints comes out.

Misha started signing autographs at 7:00. I don't even know how long I waited, but I was starting to crash. I was one of the last in line--I'd bought my ticket that morning, and they were going by number.

Because of the way they had the autograph table set up, you couldn't see Misha until it was your turn. Now I'd been psyching myself up for this ever since I decided to get the ticket Saturday night. I thought because I'd done well with Richard, how much harder could it be with Misha?

Yeah, not so much. I think he has secret powers to short out your synapses. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. His eyes were darker than I expected. He was a little rumbled and had five o'clock shadow. I think once he looked down to sign my photo, the spell was broken because I recovered enough to give him the sticker and tell him that he deserved it more than I did. I got a little smile and "I'm going to sew this into my clothes". Smart-ass Misha. I love it.

Misha leaving the autograph session. They were serious about his security. I'm betting it drove him up the wall.

Semi-close encounter #3:

Brock. Strolling around Sunday night while one of my roomies and I were trying to decide which restaurant to hit.

And that's about it, kids. I've got some pics of the hotel to finish off the week and a story about the bus ride back. (Far better than the ride down.)
