Geek alert.

Tonight's "Deal or No Deal" is a two hour Star Wars special.  Promos showed the briefcase-carrying girls wearing either the infamous Leia bikini or Stormtrooper armor.  Special appearances include Chewbacca and Carrie Fisher.  I set the DVR since it might amuse the kiddos.

MovieStamper (found via kotke.org) is a database of time stamps, tags, and screenshots of favorite movie scenes.  Looks like it could one day be useful, if enough people contribute to it.  Someone definitely seems to like the Bourne films and Matt Damon.

Since I had a pretty decent weekend and nothing's getting done at work, I might as well blog.

Without telling the kids beforehand, we took them on Saturday to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.  We've had tickets since January to see the special Star Wars exhibit and do the Millennium Falcon experience.  ( While the kids didn't go bonkers when they learned what we were doing, they had a good time. )

When the IT consulting firm did some work on our servers last week, they installed a firewall that allowed only 5 accounts to access the internet at a time.  Since I'm first in the office and use it (goof around on it) continually, I've been holding one slot hostage all day. Bwa ha ha hA HA HAHA!

While flipping through my gmail, this headline appeared at the top of my window.  Wired is looking for the nerdiest desk knick knacks.   Looking around my desk here at work, I have a sad lack of nerdy gear.  It looks like a mom's desk instead.  The desk at home is too cluttered with papers to have room for knick knacks.

Junior, lying on the floor, looking at the sunlight coming through our skylight : How does light get through the window?

I'm looking for a fairly simple line drawing of a Star Destroyer.  The kids and I decided to combine two of Marc's favorite things - Star Wars and letterboxing - for Father's Day.  This means I get to (attempt to) carve a rubber stamp that looks like a Star Destroyer.  Can anyone point me towards some sketches I might adapt?
