Day Four - Chase in Riverfell, Second Trip

Sep 01, 2008 17:00

Who: Chase, Jane, Alec
Where: starting on the west edge of Riverfell, moving toward the barracks
When: Day four, evening
Rating: Light R, for at least language

Status: Closed, Completed
Summary: Chase meets a new Riverfell arrival who demands to be taken to Jane. Noting the similarities between them physically, Chase assumes their power to be similar as well. He drops Alec off in Jane's room where the two have a happy reunion - and Chase steals the pile of letters from Jane's desk.

Jane and Alec chatter at each other for a bit. Jane tells him she's been here four days and has met several people, promising to introduce Alec to the ones she's taken a shine to. Alec wants to go visit the lake first since he saw Chase/Jacob walking across it. Upon finding it's simply regular water, he assumes it to be one of Jacob's powers. While outside, the twins notice the altercation at the west edge of things, and even from a distance guess that Bella has reverted to human. This sparks a fury in Jane that carries through the merged thread.

Chase slipped through the portal, intrigued to discover he was dumped outside this time, rather than on a bed. Well, whatever. He did recognize the place as Riverfell, and that was something. He shoved his hands into his pockets before he started to walk toward the town, aware that the lake was between him and the barracks.

Well, hell. Jesus could walk on water, so could he.

Once he got to the lake, his eyes flashed black and he strode across the top of the water purposefully, doing his best to keep his mind utterly blank in case someone was sweeping or listening. He especially kept the thoughts of Pepper buried as deep as he could; if someone was listening, he didn't want them discovering her in his mind.

On the other side of the lake, Chase looked around. His eyes settled on the barracks before he looked around to see if he recognized anyone from the day before. Maybe he'd start with them.
