I finally saw Brokeback Mountain this weekend. Really, I can't believe this was such a contender for best movie. I was mildly disappointed. Still, I did like it better than the actual Best Movie Oscar winner. The cinematography was beautiful, but I kept having to rewind to hear what Ennis was saying. I know people from Wyoming, and they do actually open their mouths when they speak.
I was just reading some reviews of "Brokeback" on Netflix-- not because I cared what other users thought, they are just so damned funny. Half of the reviews begin "I am a heterosexual", or "I knew this was a movie about homosexuals". I have never written a Netflix review, but now I am tempted to write one that begins, "I am a queer, and even though I knew this movie was about straight people, I thought I'd give it a chance."
