When you're having fun! Even more so when you have a massive trip coming up which requires tons of planning. Actually, I think I'm doing okay on that front. I've been working on it for several months, so most of the major stuff is out of the way. The camera and computer are bought, contact lenses in, car recently listed in the paper, myspace account opened, and so on. The car isn't sold yet, which is a minor problem. I only realized yesterday that it in fact takes about a week for my bank to shift dollars over to yen, meaning ideally my car should be sold...um...ASAP. I have backup funds in my retirement account and slush fund which I could use in the event of my car not selling on time. I'd just have to pay myself back. My parents also offered to loan me my car's worth until it sells if things start getting tight, but I'm hoping I won't have to take them up on that. It's a cute yellow VW Bug, people! Buy it!
The other thing that has me biting my nails is my limited suitcase room. One is certainly reserved for clothes, but with my massive closet I'll have to be very choosy. I have lots of shoes, so those are tricky too. The second suitcase is the kicker. I don't want to overpack. I don't want to have lots of crap to haul when I switch apartments. To this end, I am totally taking my big bear in a spacesaver bag. Did it last time, and I'm gonna do it again! This prevents me from packing too much junk that I really don't need. Plus he's the best body pillow ^^ I'm taking a little storage thing of games and DVDs, even tho the NOVA paper says to leave that stuff behind. It's small and not that heavy, so in it goes. Lots of medicine and the like will be packed. I'll leave the electric blanket since it's getting warmer. Most likely there'll be a PS2 slim in there somewhere. Any idea how much a little TV costs, Jess and Jenn? Because eventually I'll need one if I bring a PS2 ^^; I have to bring my Japanese textbooks. These are vital to the expense of everything else. One of my prime reasons for going to Japan is to study Japanese. So yeah, lots of headscratching and listmaking.
Despite all this, I really am looking forward to going! I'm sure I'll be able to live even if I have to leave some stuff behind. It can always be shipped later. My last day of work is Friday...it's been a long time since I've been off for a week ^_^ It's gonna be great, and full of productivity. Truly.
