I just worked a pretty long five days...everyone's traveling back home from Mardi Gras, since we had a huge celebration in Lake Charles this year. We drew some of the usual New Orleans crowd since that city still isn't quite up to its old level of festivities. So yeah, lots of partying and general business over the last week for our area

I had a student in my lesson the other day who is moving to LA - New Orleans, in fact - with her husband when he goes to study. I was teaching the "festivals of the world" lesson and, at the end of the lesson, I asked her if she knew about Mardi Gras. She said she didn't, and well..

I didn't want to get into exactly what usually happens at Mardi Gras, so I gave her the task of learning about it as homework as a warning. I just hope she actually looked up information about it, as she doesn't like festivals or noisy events in general
