"So she does," Kanda replied to Daisya with an indifferent shrug. He wasn't here to pick a fight with them, and as far as he was concerned, if Daisya wanted to spout off at the mouth, then let him. It would be better for the three of them if Kanda kept his distance, as far as the swordsman was concerned.

Still, Daisya's words brought Kanda back to the pre-ball days when Daisya and he seemed to be fighting over Lenalee over the journals, remembering that it had been said that Daisya was more qualified of the two of them to be with her. While Kanda had been slightly angered at the words, for Daisya did not know Lenalee like he did, he couldn't deny that he believed them, too, and that it had been his fault he had pushed her away like he did shortly after becoming an Exorcist.

He wanted to scream at them that he was doing all this for their own good, but knew that it was pointless. One, that would involve explaining everything, including his little interlude with Dr. House and that was something Kanda could not let them know about. Two, they already had convinced themselves that he was inhuman now. They would not listen to him.
