There was never an easy way to start anything important.
"I couldn't tell you over the journals," Kanda began slowly, "but I just wanted to let you know that I have no intention of bringing harm to you. Daisya was hurt, yes, but unfortunately Daisya is rather emotional and tends to allow sensitive feelings get in his way of thinking things through clearly." He bowed, something he rarely did. It was a little uncomfortable and embarrassing, humbling himself like this, but this man had saved his life. If there was one thing Kanda couldn't stand, it was being indebted to another.
"I wanted to give you my apologies for Daisya's reaction."
He straightened up again, a fluid motion. "As far as my own, I only acted as what would have been expected of me, if you catch my meaning."
