Tea-time with the necromancer (knock first)
WHO: Zach Bosh, Jade Curtiss, and any one who knocks on the door first.
WHAT: Jade has some things he wants to discuss with Zach.
WHERE: Crimson Dragon Inn, room 21 (Jade and Peony's room).
WHEN: Day 39, afternoon.
Jade was sitting at the small, serviceable desk in his room, writing in the diary. Once in a while, he would wrinkle his nose, pick it up with a sigh, and tap it against the edge of a bucket by his feet, to drain the blood out.
He was not a squeamish man by any stretch of the imagination. As he child, he used to kill helpless monsters and take their carcasses apart with his bare hands, fascinated by the entrails and the oozing blood. Peony had definitely hated that side of him. But he had outgrown this strange fancy, and had learned to shed blood only when necessary.
Especially since he now realized it was a pain to get the stains out of clothes.
Not for the first time, he wished Malkuth uniforms were red, like the Kimlascan ones. It would be a lot more practical in his line of work.
And where was that boy Zach? Jade was going to be very put out if he decided to be any later than he usually was. Young people just had no sense of punctuality!
