WHEN: Night, a week after the monster attack.
It was most quiet and calm in the woods. The sound of the rain droplets padding against the many leaves was comforting and the different, new, and strange smells of grass and humidity enlightened his senses. He closed his eyes briefly allowing his mind to wander from the many questions that plagued his mind.
He sighed and pressed a warm hand to his forehead where he felt bandage in place protecting the abused skin. In nights like this, when headaches were too much of a nuisance to ignore, Yuu thought it was best to take a walk. Without Fou's knowing of course. There was no way she was letting him out of her sight anytime soon. It was good that he still had the privilege of his privacy ,though, it allowed for this kind of nightly adventures.
He heard movement to the side and he immediately stood on guard.
Nothing.
He cautiously made his way towards a shrubbery where he found a strange animal. He blinked at it and watched as the thing growled at him. “Tch.” He smirked. “You're not very scary.” and grabbed a twig to poke at the aggravated animal (squirrel). It growled and hissed at him with foam in its mouth, not that it would mean anything to Yuu, in warning.
It jumped at his hand and bit him. “A-SHIT!” Startled, Yuu acted fast and threw the rabid animal against a tree, where it squeaked in pain and began making a strange noise.
“The hell!?” Suddenly, he found himself surrounded by an entire army of angry critters.
He then knew best than to stay. The reason he had legs was to run and he made a great decision in doing so.
Yuu ran as fast as his legs could carry him and ignored the pounding of his heart in his head. The sound of something roaring ahead caught his attention. A swift river carrying debris and mud from the rain cut his path.
There was no way he could go through.
He turned around towards his attackers and before he knew it, the ground beneath him gave in and he fell with a startled gasp.
Yuu flailed his arms and kicked his legs to break the surface. He coughed and sputtered as the current dragged him.
