Duchess left the house, carrying the book in her mouth and walking down the streets toward the cafe where she had met with Kagari. It took her several tries to locate the proper shop, because the streets looked so similar to a cat. Humans and their tendency to put signs so high! It was bothersome, having to constantly look up. However, she found it with little trouble.
Setting down the book in front of the shop, Duchess sat on it and waited for Thomas to arrive. She should have maybe given him better directions, but she figured he could likely find her by scent. It wasn't that hard, once you isolated the smell.
And if he met an alley cat along the way, well . . . Thomas could take care of himself. Duchess was sure of it. He had taken care of Edgar after all, right? While she waited, Duchess groomed her whiskers. It simply wouldn't do if she couldn't look her absolute best for Thomas.
It was always critical to look your best.
