She watched from a distance as she moved through the park, her pace comfortable, and her mood perhaps much less worried than it should have been. Then again, maybe not. She was her own breed of terrible, or had been at one time. Ce Monde, after all, was a dangerous place. The life of a Sky Pirate was not easy, and it certainly wasn't free of blood. Why allow herself to become terrified over someone who wasn't too different from the person she had been?
With the snap of her fingers, she'd ignited a flame as she continued her walk, humming quietly to herself as she watched the man out of the corner of her eye. Surely, someone like him would notice company, yes?

But like he had said to her before, he liked games.
She didn't strike him as someone who frightened easily, so he had no qualms about using super speed to appear right behind her. "Well, well, well. This is a nice surprise." Now he appeared just a few feet in front of her. His gaze fell to the fire in her hand before looking into her cat eyes. "Quite a neat little ability you have there... Magic?"

"Well, handsome," Ba'ast began as she waved the flame away, her lips curving into an almost seductive smirk. She could get used to his face. "...Seems I'm not the only one with tricks up my sleeve. You going to give me a show? I can pay."
Ba'ast knew full well that this man was no laughing matter. In fact, according to popular belief, he was quite the threat. Really, though, now, she wasn't about to let a threat scare her. Hell no. It was exciting..

"You don't know much about me, do you?" He smiled and held out one hand. A stone slowly rose from the ground and settled in his palm. He held it out to her.
"Money isn't really a problem for me." Suddenly the stone changed, it's various properties turning into solid gold. "Good enough trick for you?"
Sylar briefly wondered why he did not kill this woman where she stood... he supposed he just sort of liked her. One of the first women who didn't have a problem with him. Surprisingly that counted for a lot.

Gold.
He was perhaps her new Best Friend. If there was a way to exploit his ability to her benefit, she would find it. Until then, she would get comfortable with this dangerous man. Perhaps even friendly with him.
"Here you are gushing over my little fireball when you're turning stone into precious currency." Ba'ast offered a devilish smirk, shifting her weight as she continued: "I know who you are. I know you're dangerous. Do you expect me to run for the hills, darling? You can't begin to imagine what I've done and how I've done it. Growing up off over there--" She pointed toward the coast, "a girl's got to be tough. I don't look like a poor, slender little waif of a thing, do I?" No. She had the scars to prove it, and the incantation carved into her skin was just one of them, albeit the largest.
"Now, play nice with me, will you?"

"No, you don't at all. And don't worry, I can play nice." Wearing that smile he could pull out in any instance, Sylar placed the gold in her hand. He kept his hand touching hers for a few moments. "Just as fair warning though, most people that get to know me don't live for very long." Finally he pulled his hand away.
"As for why I like your fireball... well, abilities that I can't do interest me greatly. I like seeing how things work." And fire was one he hadn't really ever had the chance to get. He wondered what else she could do. "But tell me about yourself... how about you tell me a little about this past that you think makes you so equipped to deal with someone like me?"

"The King you all adore so much comes from a land rich with people who enjoy making the lives of others as miserable as possible. My family, since before my birth, has constantly been on the move. As a child, I was threatened and beaten. I was either condemned for my 'witchcraft' or sought after to be used for it. I had to learn how to defend myself against swords and magic alike. I have more than a few lives on my hands." Ba'ast shrugged, placing her hands on her hips, and turned her head up just slightly-- not enough to break eye contact. "But when you come from where I have, and have lived the live I have, you can't afford to regret what you've done."
