Another wrench thrown into a well-laid plan. Well, not the best plan Light had ever come up with, but things were working out in his favor until now. L had certainly noticed his message tied in with Misa's death, but the rash of deaths (none of them his responsibility) had overshadowed Misa's own, and pushed any thoughts of Kira from the public eye.

Frustratingly enough, as well as the Death Note had worked in Edensphere, once the place went away, Light was unable to get back, and the Note still refused to work in Rivelata. The only bright side was that it absolved him of more suspicion.

But Matsuda. Matsuda was a different story. Someone from their world who wasn't completely loyal in the way that Misa was. Someone who was naive enough not to suspect Light, but just trusting enough to possibly believe L. And now that the two were meeting, there was a distinct chance that L would try and bring Matsuda over to his side.

Light was not going to allow that to happen.

"Matsuda-san!" he called happily, walking over to the two men. Light still offered a friendly smile to L, almost as if daring the detective to say something.
