Who: Axel and Roxas
What: Axel can't sleep and is actually really omfg excited, so Roxas has to put up with him
When: Immediately after THIS log, still Night 256
Where: Axel and Roxas's house
Even though it was well past midnight, once Axel was inside the house and sure the door was locked and latched, he couldn't help but laugh. Loud, long, and full of joy. He was crying, he was laughing, he wanted to punch someone and then kiss them because holy crap, he was alive. He didn't even care that his noise might wake up Roxas, he was alive.
Roxas heard him, getting up and heading down to see what was going on. He was more than a little surprised to see the redhead, seeing as he'd been hiding. And he was... laughing. Either he had totally lost it or something good at happened. "Axel?" he questioned as he ventured over.
Axel looked up when Roxas entered the room. "Oh my god, Roxas. Roxas, you're not going to believe it," he said, rushing over to his friend and grinning like a total idiot.
The 'he's totally lost it' theory was looking a little more likely now, but he tried to be optimistic. Tried. "What?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
Axel didn't say anything, but grabbed Roxas's hand and placed it over his chest, continuing to grin.
Roxas just stared at him for a moment before his eyes widened. "No way..." he muttered.
"Yeah," Axel said, grinning.
"How did that...?" Roxas was definitely happy for him (at least he thought he was-- this whole mess was just way too confusing), but how had it gotten there in the first place?
Axel... well, he didn't really know. it was... "Sho. And you. And Uzuki, and Zexion and Xemnas and... " he laughed again. "What can change the nature of a man? It was a lot of things, Roxas. Being here, seeing those visions..."
Roxas stared at him for a minute longer before taking his hand away and smiling. "Well, no matter how it happened... 'm glad you got it."
Oh, right. Roxas, um... "You're not mad, are you?"
"About what?" he asked, not entirely sure what he was talking about.
"Well... I dunno. I... you have one too, right?"
"I'm still not really sure," he said, "It really seems like it sometimes."
Ah. "Well... you'll find out eventually, right?"
He nodded. "Yea, I will." He'd make sure he did.
