WHO: Demyx and Axel.
WHAT: Demyx was ordered to kill Axel by the Superior and despite his doubts, the Melodious Nocturne heads out to try upholding his duties.
WHERE: Somewhere in the city nearby the jungle.
WHEN: MEANWHILE, IN ANOTHER PART OF TOWN... (same time that the Xemnas log is going down)

fuego_bailando:
Axel sped through the streets of Rivelata, clinging to the shadows along the sides of the buildings. He had to make it to the jungle, to avoid arrest - or worse, Batman. He ran for his life and freedom - he could stick it out in the jungle. He'd have to.

lolwaterlol:
Shortly after seeing the entry Axel had made, Demyx had disappeared to go find him. The redhead was probably planning on fleeing, and really, the only place one could flee to was the jungle, right? See, Demyx could totally use his head when needed!

As such, it didn't take the blond very long to intercept Axel's path to the jungle. He appeared around a corner suddenly, literally right in the redhead's way. "Axel, hold on!"

fuego_bailando:
"Whoa!" Axel shouted, skidding to a halt so as not to run into Demyx. Oh to be able to teleport. He came to a stop, flailing his arms a little, before hopping a few feet away and grabbing his chakrams out of their holster. "What do you want, Demyx? You wouldn't really be able to kill me, now would you?"

lolwaterlol:
Demyx had spent eight months here gaining back what he could, so summoning his sitar with that swirl of water by his hand was not such a hard feat. "You're only one rank higher than me." The Nobody's usual cheer had been replaced with a stronger demeanor -- but it still wasn't easy to hide the conflicted look in his eyes. "I don't... I don't want to, but I can try."

fuego_bailando:
"Why are you doing this, if you don't want to?" Axel demanded of the blond Nobody. "The Organization is falling apart, Demyx. Even if you do succeed in killing me, do you think you can beat Zexion and Roxas, too? DO you really want to?" Axel lowered his arms. "I knew you didn't like conflict, but I didn't think you were that spineless."

lolwaterlol:
Demyx wished he knew the answer to that question as well. His loyalties were torn, and maybe he was blindly following the Superior, but wasn't that what they alway did anyway? "I don't..." No. No, he had had enough of not knowing. A few chords of the sitar were played, conquering a few of Demyx's water clones. His abilities were still limited thanks to Rivelata's magic barrier, but he was going to use everything he could to keep from physical combat. "Silence, you traitor."

fuego_bailando:
Axel dodged the water clones, taking care of them purely on physical skill. "The superior is crazy, Demyx" he said, eliminating one clone. "So you're going to do something you don't want to do, just because he told you? Think for yourself!"

lolwaterlol:
Think for yourself, think for yourself -- how many times was he going to hear that before he made up his mind? "Weren't we all pawns from the beginning?" His tone of voice was so different from the way it usually was. He replaced the destroyed clone with another. "You've already betrayed us once, Axel! I want to trust you, but I..." His facial expression cracked then, a terribly upset frown gracing his lips. "...don't know if I can."

fuego_bailando:
"Don't trust me!" Axel bawled as he continued to take out clones. "Trust yourself!"

lolwaterlol:
That was not something Demyx had heard before. Even after arriving in Rivelata, the Organization had continued on the same way it always had, until now. Until everyone had started to go in their own directions. And with that, Demyx was starting to get left behind again.

The Nobody moved closer then, not replacing every clone that was defeated. "What would you do if you walk away from here?"

fuego_bailando:
"Hide, obviously. Try to find a way to redeem myself, maybe. I don't know."

lolwaterlol:
"In the jungle where you're likely to get torn apart by something?" Demyx asked, clearly not liking the idea.

fuego_bailando:
"It's better than getting killed by you, Xemnas, or the Council," Axel retorted, backing away and holding his chakrams up defensively.

lolwaterlol:
Demyx had summoned a few balls of water at this point, but his aim was poor. It was on purpose though, for all Demyx was doing right now was stalling his own decision. Gathering up every factor he had in his head. "You've been branded a traitor again. But so has everyone else..." He was talking to both Axel and himself.

fuego_bailando:
Axel only waited for Demyx to make his move, eyeing those water balls cautiously, ready to counter if he had to.

lolwaterlol:
He would give it one more chance. Ordered by a string of chords, the balls of water sprang forward toward their redheaded opponent. The remaining clones went after the man as well, following the orders given by the Melodious Nocturne's weapon.

fuego_bailando:
Axel struck at the water balls and clones, getting more wet than injured as they burst when he hit them. He had nothing left to say to Demyx, just giving him a disparaging look that read, "I thought you were better than this."

lolwaterlol:
Demyx's water incarnations were not as powerful as they should have been anyway, but with a hesitant master, the fact that they dealt more wetness than damage was a reflection on Demyx's own state of mind. The blond wanted to tell Axel not to give him that look, but he couldn't manage the words.

He knew he had to make up his mind. "Axel." He said, aqua eyes focused on the redheaded Nobody. "There's no changing your mind?"

fuego_bailando:
Axel gave a rueful chuckle. "You know me, Demyx. I like to burn the bridge while I'm still on it."

lolwaterlol:
"Yeah, I sort of gathered that." The more he talked to him, the less Demyx wanted to kill him -- and it wasn't like he even wanted to kill him in the first place.

The Nobody moved closer then, his clones and music notes going stationary, but still separating Demyx from Axel. "It took a lot of time to be able to summon water again, you know. I thought it'd be useful to the Superior, and it should be right now..." Demyx trailed off, but forced himself to continue. "But I think I'd rather be useless right now."

The incarnations burst and disappeared. "I know the truth, at least."

fuego_bailando:
"You're not useless, Demyx," Axel said, returning his chakrams to their holster with a deft twist of the clasps and thongs that held them against his hip. "Can I pass now?"

lolwaterlol:
Demyx sighed and dismissed the sitar. "I don't like the idea of you hiding in the jungle." The blond then backed away to the side, moving out of Axel's way. "But go ahead. I won't stop you."

fuego_bailando:
Axel smiled, rather unlike his usual smirks or wide, cheesy grins. "Thanks, Demyx. I owe you one." And with that, he slipped past the Nocture, patting Demyx on the back as he slid by. "Take care of yourself."

lolwaterlol:
He tried to smile back, but somewhere along the way, the expression had lost its Demyxy cheer. It wasn't forced, though -- just lacking. He still didn't like the fact that now, with his decision, that it seemed that more official that the Organization had fallen apart.

"You too." Demyx didn't look back as Axel slipped by. He would see him again, when things settled down. For now though, they would just have to go their separate ways.
