Max was on the roof, mostly just sitting in the rain than doing anything. She had picked up materials to fix the roof, which had begun to leak since the rainy season had started. She was soaked to the bone, sure, and was annoyed that the rain kept her from flying too much, but it was at least warm rain versus frigid rain that fell elsewhere she'd been.
Actually, at least it was raining. It might be humid, but it was a nice break from scorching heat.
She kept her raptor vision peeled for Ed, and the journal out with her. She owed him for helping her, and he wasn't an awful person either. She could repay him for the help with Iggy's cooking, drinks, whatever he decided to make.
No wonder Gazzy thought she was a different person. She was actually halfway socially acceptable.
Ironically... This place had made her soft.
