WHO: Anyone! 8D But hosted by the Hitachiin Twins and Penelo~
WHAT: Open House Celebration!
WHERE: Eagle's Splendour
WHEN: Day 189 (Oct 2)
The storefront had undergone a great deal of renovation since the Sky-Pirates' ship crashed into it a little less than 4 months ago. What had originally been
a quaint little place, no had 2 stories and a new sign.
Originally, only the front half of the first floor had been usable as 'showroom' space, but now the
entire front area was devoted to that purpose, along with elaborate
wall features. It was in this wide-open space that
seven groups of mannequins were arranged on display - obviously the bi-products of the twins' efforts; a combination of style from home and pieces inspired by their time in Rivelata.
It was in this same room that a center table was waiting to receive the numerous goodies supplied by Penelo's Pastries. She had promised
hours d'ourvres,
petit fours, and arguably one of the most unique kinds of
cakes that Kaoru had ever seen or heard of.
Like the rest of the showroom, the table was decorated in an array of reds, oranges, and yellows - fake leaves on top of a marble tablecloth, with purple and black napkins for accents.
Off to the side was something Kaoru had insisted they purchase during the renovations: the piano Tamaki and Nodame had been using to practice, which they'd seen in a store down the street not long after arriving. Now, Sabriel and Ryan were going to be utilizing it for the night, and that made Kaoru feel much better about the purchase; he hadn't been lying when he'd told Sabriel he imagined the owner would have rather seen it played than sat without use.

Black Dress Despite the fact that Kaoru tended to use the connecting backyard for his practice sessions - training in both hand-to-hand combat and with a few bladed weapons - it would not have been quite the home the twins were looking for without some
subtle landscaping. It was out here that the steaks, gyoza, and shiho ramen pot provided by Junkhouse Ramen would be placed on tables along with quite possibly ever single piece of silverware the twins could buy on such short notice.
It was out here that the few 'pranks' the twins had set up would be going off. Along the edges of the yard were 'brain piles', actually just cold spaghetti, stuck with pitchforks and 'bleeding' ketchup. On one table was a pile of juicy red apples, but which had been cored slightly so as to stick cream in - the Rivelata equivalent of "gummy worms", basically. In the punchbowl, white grapes with red food dye on them gave off the 'eyeball' appearance, with 'deep fried fingers' next to it -- actually just breaded pickles. They had tried to think of other pranks to pull at the last minute, but found between the atmosphere of the party and the technological limitations... that it just may have to wait for another time. Maybe their birthday party.
The "backyard" was left mostly open all the same, however, because it had been the twins' hope that it would be the main area for mingling while eating, especially for the guests who didn't take to the "fashion scene" very well - or at all. It was hard to tell that the area had ever once been two lots... except for the backside of a large house at the other edge, never mind the fencing connecting the two lots.
Any guests
personally invited via the journals could have gone
to the front of the house had they so chosen, but even if they'd come in through the backyard they would not miss
the interior -- all done in "Barcelona Mediterranean Revival", if the twins had remembered correctly.
A table in the dining room was for the last of Penelo's contributions: delectable
desert cocktails. There were at least two couches in every room - two and three cushions respectively - meant to allow for a great number of guests to sit and chat at their leisure.
It was these guests, more than anyone else, that the twins would be trying to fool as the single biggest 'prank' of the evening:
they would be -
dressed as angels -
performing their Taboo Host Style.
The question would be who thought it was an act, and who thought it was real...
