He chose a room upstairs-- it was harder to spy into, and would allow them to keep a lookout for anyone who approached, either for the meeting, medical treatment, or, well, other, less appealing reasons. He quickly moved in a moderate amount of furniture from the other rooms, or at least enough to seat a goodly number of the others who would be coming.
