He wondered exactly what sort of idiot the guards took him for. A journal had been shoved into his hands, with the suggestion to 'communicate' within its pages.
Light only had to stare at the book for a few minutes to see how its technology worked. Whatever others wrote in the book was visible to all others on the network - if one could call it a network. 'Why would anyone use this?' he thought to himself. 'With no means of encoding, there's no way to keep secrets.'
It didn't take long for him to figure out what was going on in the world that lay outside of the journals. Some newcomer wrote a nervous entry and one of the first replies was a guide. A few minutes to digest the information, about a Queen and a God and a war and money, and Light was set to go.
The most important thing was to blend in. He headed to the market district with the intention of seeing just what sort of people were able to be used.
