WHO: Laguna Loire and Seifer Almasy
WHAT: Seifer seeks closure in an unlikely companion.
WHERE: Marketplace
WHEN: Today... afternoon?
It was a strange feeling.
Seifer promptly stepped out of the house, as always, heading for the familiar route that he knew for certain would land him at the market district. What the hell was he doing, though, forcing Laguna to speak with him like that? Surely he didn't expect the former President to understand. He hardly understood it himself.
Shit. He'd become so soft.
But what was he to do? The man'd never lost a - a contact before. Fujin and Raijin left him when he was under the Sorceress' spell; not exactly an ideal time to be feeling nostalgic.
Disappearances, those deaths over the journals never really bothered him, because they didn't matter. Not to Seifer. Yet that morning when he flipped through the aging, weathered pages out of nothing more than obligation, he'd seen a butterfly and Byakuya.
The one most unlikely - friend that Seifer never had. Who'd forgotten all about him. They met when some foolish bastards had decided to set the marketplace on fire in the shape of a butterfly, and now they parted because of another butterfly.
So perhaps Seifer thought that speaking to someone as incredulous as Laguna Loire would grant him closure. By the time he snapped out of his thoughts and replaced that rare seriousness with a nonchalant grin, he was at the marketplace.
