But it's true all the same [semi-open; in progress]

WHO: Sabriel (shewalksindeath), Riku (silver_shore) and Zexion (book_of_mirage)
WHAT: It begins as a simple spar.
WHERE: The beach.
WHEN: Day 172, afternoon.

Sabriel, honestly, needed the practice.

At Wyverley college she'd been the best fighter, hands down; there was really no one who had provided much of a challenge, save the instructor. But Wyverley was just a small girl's academy in the north of Ancelstierre. It was insignificant, and in Rivelata, Sabriel knew, she was a little fish in a big pond. She was nothing.

And so the Dog's warning had burned itself into Sabriel's brain: This place has many things the likes of which I have never seen. Her eyebrows drew together. She really knew nothing of what she was facing, did she?

How ignorant she was.

But now she couldn't back down. She'd made the commitment to spar, so spar she would. she stomped and squelched off through the Sky-Snake gore still coating the streets, mouth set into a grim line as she marched towards the ocean.

Sabriel was nothing if not stubborn.

She loosened her father's sword from its scabbard at her hip, wishing momentarily she hadn't entirely ruined her helmet fighting the Snakes. Perhaps it would have helped. The afternoon sum gleamed on the beach, momentarily making her squint. Her eyes would adjust by the time Riku got here.

Ω riku, place - beach, Ω zexion, Ω sabriel
