[[convo from here]]

Nunnally had been speaking softly as an open book sat in her lap for easily twenty minutes, with things such as, "... I'm not sure where I am, Mr. Duo. I'm just sitting on a box. That's where the nice man set me down, saying he couldn't take me any further... I do hear the ocean, though. Does that help any?"

It was rather like hearing someone speak into a phone (or a child to her imaginary friend), only hearing one side of the conversation. She was dressed in her pink school uniform and dark red necktie, pale brunette hair being clearly visible all down her back without her wheelchair to conceal it.

Suddenly a very loud voice - one she recognized immediately - rang out over the crowd and she turned her head to the sound.

"Onii-sama?*" She muttered. She hadn't seen him for days... "Onii-sama?" Instinctively, she reached out her hand in hopes he would soon find her.

Before closing the journal, Shirley heard Nunnally's voice out of it, but she didn't think that she was on the same boat.

"Nunnally's here too?!" She exclaimed shocked. Why would Nunnally be here? From reading the guide to Rivelata, this place surely was not a place where Nunnally would want to be in.

Surprised from the sudden jerk from Lelouch, Shirley almost fell face first. It was a good thing that she didn't.

"Nunnally! Nunnally! Where are you?" She cried out helping Lelouch in his search. She scanned the dock before finding the little girl. "Lulu, look, she's right there!"

Making sure Shirley stayed with him as he made his way through the crowd, violet eyes flashing with uncharacteristic hope, Lelouch followed the way that Shirley pointed out, and, finally, as he reached his little sister, he grasped her diminutive hand in his own gently, almost as if afraid she wasn't real and would disappear before him if he hoped to much, if he pressed her hand too hard. Falling to his knees, he breathed her name, the smile on his lips completely genuine.

"Nunnally."

Suddenly, the arm that was holding onto Shirley was wrapped around his little sister as he held her close, still gentle, fearful to bring her to harm, but almost as if never to let her go.

"Nunnally... I wondered some nights if I'd never see you again... Nunnally... Thank goodness."

Nunnally was more than a little confused. She'd only just found herself in this strange place and her brother was acting as if they hadn't seen each other for months, not days. "Onii-sama, what's wrong? Where have you been?" She was certainly glad to be with him again, that much was clear as she hugged him back. "I hear Shirley-san's voice... that didn't come from the book then, did it Onii-sama?"

She tilted her head a little against Lulu's, trying to get a better idea of the people around her.

It smelled much different here. This was not the pristine Ashford Academy she was used to. This brought back memories from those seven years ago, the last time she could remember being anywhere near an ocean or outdoors.

All the same, she clutched her brother tightly. "I'm sorry, Onii-sama... I lost my wheelchair somehow."

She knew, from the moment she saw their entries in the journal, that she would have to take extra care to watch over Lelouch. They could have been from unfortunate times, with unfortunate memories that would force him to make his painful decisions all over again - to relive unnecessary pain. They could also, however, be from before things became so complicated. From before he lost them, before he lost everything. These loved ones of his brought with them the potential for both great pain and great joy. Luckily for them both it was the latter ( ... )
