Down the Well. [CLOSED (?)]

WHO: Garnet til Alexandros and everyone's favourite hero, Link.
WHAT: Garnet takes a walk and ... discovers something very odd in a well.
WHERE: Housing district
WHEN: Er, Day 77? Late morningish.

She'd been here before. By now, the streets of Rivelata had been burned into her memory. Unfortunate circumstances had drawn her outside and acquainted her in a much more personal way with her surroundings, causing her to memorize little details. What colour this house was, how many trees lined the streets, the kinds of flowers in the gardens....

So much of it had been lost, but evidence remained. It always remained.

...Even in Zidane's case. She'd been by his place countless times already since hearing the news, hoping she'd been fed lies. She'd wanted nothing more than to see his familiar face beaming cheerfully out at her from the window, or to hear him fumble with the door to run out and greet her.

But there was nothing. An empty shell. Familiarity, gone. It was true, what they say. You never know what you have until you lose it.

If she could have been there with him, could have comforted him, could have ... talked with him, reminisced with him--

Why was she so selfish now? He'd returned home, hadn't he? Surely, he could help.... But so selfishly, she wanted him here with her again, or at least to see him once more, even if only to say goodbye. But it was okay, it would be fine. She could carry on without him. Maybe they'd see each other again one day.... In a better place.

She blinked to clear her vision, suddenly determined to focus on other things. There were still houses to fix, people to help; she couldn't afford to allow herself to become downtrodden. Quietly, feeling her emotions no more resolved than they had been moments before, she once more looked over the area, recalling things that used to be here and there, and--

That... made no sense. What was that, in the lid to that well? Curiously, her vision still slightly blurry, she approached the well. An ... arrow? For all she knew, she could not recall that arrow ever being there before.

It took some amount of effort, but Garnet managed to push the lid aside, and peered over the edge and into the dark, cool recess of the well. Her vision hadn't adjusted completely to the darkness the light hadn't reached, but ... something appeared to be down there. "...Hello?"

[ooc: lmao, sorry for emo!Garnie. That was turning into a novel, I had to cut some of it back. XD]
