They were out of food, again. It was beginning to become tiresome, hiding from Danny on the roof and in her room. She didn't want to talk about the ball, and she feared he'd want to, no help of course that Uncle Brucie would probably hang her for avoiding Danny. But what he didn't know would just make sure she had freedom longer.
Actually, going out also meant she could drop by and pick up more chocolate to possibly make some more cookies. Her latest batch wasn't nearly as burnt. She was learning.
She unfurled her wings and landed on the streets from the roof. They were pretty wings, and she hated to hide them, but walking was simply better. It was getting hard hiding from two people at once. At least Haruhi didn't live in the same house...
She followed her direction sense to the market, weaving between people and heading toward the only shop that sold chocolate in a solid form. She picked up some chunks and headed to a fruit stand. Mangoes were so tasty. Pity there wasn't any soda around.
Max thought her luck would keep her safe. After all, how likely was it that Haruhi'd be able to spot her on the streets? She blended in so nicely...
