Today at work I came in to hear about how we discovered who's been stealing our used video games, and it turns out to be a guy that comes in all the time, has a membership card, etc. He's been coming in since a couple years ago in our temporary store location, and the first time I remember seeing him, I am pretty sure he attempted to steal something. But we kept a watch on him and finally everyone else let their guard down, and then so did I eventually. Well, a customer was behind him in line (he was trading in Naruto boxsets), and he told Scott that he'd seen the guy steal a bunch of stuff. So he came back later in the day and I had the pleasure of kicking him out of the store for good. Then the manager at Cinnabon found out, and said that the guy actually works with him at the store next door to us. So now there's probably a good chance he may get fired or watched like a hawk at his job from now on. Serves him fucking right. Karma seems to have come out on the right side this time!
In other work jerks, I told a guy that we price-matched (and normally we don't) with a current ad from another store, so he's upset that he has to go get this ad from his car. Then he brings it up to the counter and gets really upset when we check the date on the advertisement to make sure that it is current.
That was about the biggest news of the day on my end. I closed at work today and have to turn around and go back and open tomorrow. Several people from our store will be off working at Bumbershoot this weekend, so I worked today, work Thu/Fri/Sat and possibly Sun/Mon/Tue. So blah to that. Tomorrow after work I'll just slide home and watch the final Seahawks preseason game. And then work Friday's open shift, too.
I read through some of the leaner years of my Livejournal last night (2006/2007). Even though I didn't write a lot, I still had some good stuff in there. Maybe I just feel that way in retrospect after forgetting most of it. Could be. I guess in another three years when I read this, I'll think it's pretty enlightening, too. Hi, future me!
And I also made two new LJ icons to reflect my recent look. This post is using my non-default one, titled "yeah real deep." Because YEP.
