Yup, I'm home from Lark Camp. As always, a fabulous week of much music and dance. Played a lot of music (mostly Scandinavian and eastern European, with some Irish and English and Galician and French tunes to round things out, as well as the odd middle-eastern tune), sang (Balkan and swing), did a little dancing (mostly swing and salsa, some rhumba, cha-cha, and tango, plus a very little English country and Irish ceili and step but sadly missed out on set dancing entirely, oh, and got in some lovely waltzes as well of course) and spent a lot of time with some fabulous people (although some friends I barely got to see in passing. Boo.) Got in last night, spent all day today sleeping, and have just now decided to rejoin the world of the electronically connected. Anything interesting happen in the past a-little-more-than-a-week? I know about Brian Dallarmi passing away last night, but that's about it.
Because I'm a little melancholy about Brian, even though it wasn't at all a surprise (he'd been struggling with esophageal cancer, and we got word up at camp that he wasn't likely to last out the week), I feel like I ought to mention how much I love you guys, and I'm so glad to have you.
Oh, and also, a huge public thank you so much to
grlfury and
foseelovechild for taking care of the kitties while we were gone. They were obviously well cared-for and happy when we got home. *smooch*
