I thought two more things.

The first one is: Say nothing that isn't worth hearing.
And that applies to writing. Or things that only a limited audience will hear. Seriously, say nothing that isn't worth hearing, and worth hearing only once if it be so. Repeating myself isn't really accumulating the value of the words I produce.
Btw augmenting volume does't either.

Am I critical? I just think I felt a need of braindump which the Facebook status update can't quite fullfill.

The second thing came into my mind when I suddenly thought about an exchange I had on vegetarianism: Something being scientific doesn't mean it is realistic or true, it just means it has been investigated and accepted as plausible.

But I think it's because I don't like hearing that veganism is not scientific. I mean, it can be ethical without being healthy, too. Just like absolutism or abstinence. There are studies (or so I have been told) claiming that small doses of alcohol regularly (no more than 100-200 grams a week) will minimise the risk for some specific brain disease (of course I don't remember the particular one either!). I didn't really get interested except that I calculated pretty swiftly that means 700 - 1400 kcals extra per week just to slow down an encephalic chronic illness. I have drunk alcohol during the last two months and in quantities surpassing those of my whole previous life. But I never really acquired a taste for red wine despite the health effects for resveratrol.

And sexual abstinence - it simply has lots of positive effects, given the realities of STDs and pregnancy and the fact that not all people are responsible or able to bear consequences of their actions, or have acquired certain levels of maturity at their age or whatever, just as a rewarding and safe sex life on the other hand has lots of positive health effetcs and I suppose generally makes people happy. And celibacy can be useful as well.

And about veganism, well, look the hypocrite, whose comfort food is cheese and whose favourite accessory designer does almost exclusively leather.

I'm really on braindump spree today aren't I? Let's hope this form of egoism won't continue for long.

salo, braindump
