yet boring at the same time. I think about posting on a semi-regular basis, but my life sounds so boring that I don't bother.
I finished the Texas A&M socks this week except for kitchenering the heels closed (afterthought heel). I am going to visit the recipient soon and have left them unfinished so I can more easilly do any corrections in heel shape/length if needed.
I started another pair of socks for me this week. The socks have a zig zag lace pattern going up the leg, but it will probably be hard to see with this multicolored yarn. After the Regia Silk of the last pair they yarn seems so coarse on my skin as I knit. This is the way we get spoiled. I know the yarn is 75% superwash wool and 25% nylon hand dyed by the husband of a friend. He does really good work and has a good eye for color. They will probably end up selling some of his hand dyed yarns eventually, but not yet. Pictures of course will be forthcoming.
We will probably be going to Queen of Sheeba this weekend for my birthday (a week early) because I am going to be spending my birthday elsewhere this year.
I am doing well on the new meds so far. I just have to go back to the Dr. to check out my fasting blood counts. They are trying to tell me that I have high cholesterol. That I don't doubt, but it seems to run in my dad's side of the family. I have been accused before of being to high in LDL, but got it under control with additional excercise. Since I started hitting the gym 3x per week several weeks ago, perhaps by the time I go back it will have dropped enough for the Doc to leave me alone. I won't take meds for that anyway. I want 6 months to work on it my own way, then go back and say neener, neener to the Dr. That's the plan anyway.
