good things happened today too...

This morning, I was at reception while the receptionist was making her rounds of the school for attendance, and there was the cutest little Latina here to interview. Her father went to the bathroom, and Señor Jer-Don (our Spanish teacher who was Earlham grad in the 90s who I adore) came in and we said good morning and how are you and exchanged morning pleasantries in Spanish. She smiles at me and goes, "you're so good at spanish!"
I protested a little and explained that I had majored in it in college, but that I was out of practice. and she complimented my accent, and said that I had a great accent.

it was nice b/c little kids only speak the truth - if she said I've got a good accent, it must be true. and maybe it means there's still hope for me!

I'm seriously thinking about preparing (studying! yech!) myself to take the tests that involved in applying for the medical interpretation certification program at Boston University. I'm not in a hurry, but I am thinking about it.

life, spanish, work, school
