golly!

I feel a little like I've just come back from the dead! I havent really, at least not all the way back.

after my concerts this weekend (both successful!) my body finally crashed and gave into the terrible cold/cough it's been fighting. I couldnt talk at all on monday, and was out sick yesterday. adn today, while here, I am just dragging along.

but like I said, the concerts were excellent. Saturday night was just beautiful and all of my friend Sheila's family were there, so it was neat to see them/meet them! I got a ride home with Nina, the cute girl I had a crush on (!!) but found out she had a girlfriend, which is why she moved to boston. I'm glad it brought her here though, because she's simply wonderful. Sunday afternoon was even better (for me, saturday I had a coughing fit in the first half that I was slow to recover from!!) - and abby came and brought Julia who sang with me in women's choir FIRST YEAR!!! it was so exciting! adn she might audition to join Voices Rising! which is even BETTER than just SEEING HER! seeing her EVERY TUESDAY! we had a business meeting last night (that I wish I had been well enough to go to -- as we were voting on important things AND getting a chance to buy VR hoodies(!!) - but I missed it. and now we are on vacation for a month. before we start again in january. fantastic. I'll miss everyone though, since we were all finally starting to feel all chummy and buddy buddy what with the hours and hours together every week for the last several...anyways. it was fantastic! and I am so glad that I joined the choir! and I can't wait until we start up again!

Abby and I are in the middle of serious apartment cleaning in preparation for this weekends super exciting events (!!!) -- MARY IS COMING!!! she's training up from DC on friday, and it's just INCREDIBLY exciting. and then, on saturday night after months and months incommunicado EMILY IS COMING HOME! I am so relieved that they are both so near to being near me, because I have missed them desperately. Mary and I sort of spent innumerable hours together last spring getting homework (not) done and then in a car to alaska, and then emily was pretty much my home away from home when I first moved here and it's been sad and lonely and heavy (carrying the groceries back from the bus stop) without her!

Next week I have a doctors appointment, Brenda is coming to Boston (!!!!!) (!!!!!!!!!!), Abby is leaving for WVA and then everyone is coming to my house for a party on friday (I HOPE!) and then Saturday TO MAINE! YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAY. xmas break! working at aschool is nice, I will never be able to work anywhere that doesnt have such lovely vacations!
