this was a GOOD weekend.
it started out horrible at work on saturday, when beth didnt show and roni and I were alone with like fifty five hungry tourists, but I got to leave by one and gabi was here and steve and new buddy came, and *then* we drove to BAHHABAH where we tasted beer at ABC (atlantic brewing co.) and met up with Margaret -- one of the girls who camino'd with me -- her boyfriend Gary (who is also an earlham grad, but whom I'd never met -- he's a boatbuilder now, although he studied SO/AN -- they're a very me kind of couple, a soAN and a spanish major! they live in biddeford, and are both rather fantastic, sorry, back to our regularly scheduled post....), and her dog Tuff (who was actually the most mellow dog of all time, not tough in any way shape or form). we had a grand old time, at one point we had six people and Tuff all comfortably (okay, almost comfortably) in gabi's car, which delievered us to the bouncing rock beach, where a good time was had by all.

this morning we were all up pretty early, and we breakfasted out, where we met another incoming Earlham first year, this one is NOT one I will be hoping to befriend, as he has already decided to become a japanese studies major, and his interest in Japan arose from Anime (um, I'm sorry, i just cant dig it).

it was pretty much the best weekend ever, (okay -- so the crowd was a little awkward at first, what with it being two kids from Earlham, three MSSMers and one both....on recently excouple, and well, it was the first time I hung out with steve since my birthday bash...I think it ended up being a nice eccelectic mix, and I enjoyed it profusely. especially when we were all in the car, and the four of us mssmers were being total jackasses about something stupid, and I turned to margaret, who was buried under Tuff, and said, our high school was the Maine School for Science and Math, and would you like to know what they call us, the students??? Maine's BEST AND BRIGHTEST! -- oh she and gary were amused (probably in the "oh man, if THESE are the best and brightest, wouldnt want to see the dumb kids" kind of way).

now. I can hardly fathom to write about everyone leaving, and how I realized on kat and I's lonely drive around schoodic point, that I'm leaving the ocean on friday -- it's so damn soon! I have NOT finished my homework, or packed! and I am NOT ready to go! there are more people I want to see (hopefully I'll get to see some of them this week! GIO!!!!! COME TO ME MOMMA!) and more things I want to do, like spend time outside and swim in the ocean and write everyone who I owe letters to letters! summer is rough, but realizing its over when it feels like its just begun is rougher.

work, summer, friends, school, ocean
