MOAR UPDATES ON MY LIFE!
1. I'm headed to Southern Ontario/The GTA next week for a family wedding, and I'll be there for like 9 days so I WILL have spare time. If anyone wants to hang out, let me know!
2. I'm hoping to spend time during this trip writing this J2 fic I've spent more time talking about than writing - because there's no better way to entertain yourself during a family vacation than to write porn.
3. So I'm considering buying a Silver package for The Vegas SPN Creation Con. I'm pretty sure I first was introduced to the concept of Cons back when I was losing my fandom virginity in high school playing around in the PERN fandom back in, like, 1999.
I still have never been to an actual Con*
I would never have thought my first one would be an SPN Con... but ALL MY FRIENDS ARE GOING, and for once there's enough advance notice that I think I could swing the logistics (unlike the concerts of the past few years which were always arranged only weeks before the show).
Still, though, I need someone to make up my mind for me. I think I'd rather spend more money to get a guaranteed seat than buying up a bunch of photo ops, but that's because I'm awkward getting my pic taken, and I'm always super awkward about what to do with things like photos of me with a celebrity afterwards. They end up getting shoved in a drawer until I forget about them and dig them out all dusty and bent up years later.
(Autograph sessions come with the Silver package, and that's enough time for me to smile and meet the celebs, and again, since I'm awkward about signed shit, I'd probably just get everyone to sign one thing and then auction it off for charity or something)
4. Since I'm, you know, actually going to go to a Con where, presumably, I'll be face to face with thousands of SPN fans, I figure I should probably actually give in and properly join this fandom. Which means I need to join some comms and go meet some random people on the internet, because what else** is the point of fandom?
*I did tag along for like, half a day of a local con, but that doesn't count because there was nothing/no one actually there than I fangirled.
**Besides the free porn, of course.
