Holy crap it's the middle of December?!?
I couldn't tell how late in the year it was, seeing as how it's still in the 50's outside. Or about 10C. I'm still trying to get used to using Celsius all the time. The first hurdle was learning how to spell the word.
I haven't studied Japanese as much as I would have liked to, but I have made an early New Year's resolution to sign up for private lessons. Having someone expecting me to be making weekly progress should hopefully get my butt in gear. One of the JETs around here recommended a teacher, so I'll be seeing if she can fit me in starting in January.
So, lately I've been on this Buffy/Angel kick, and it mainly as served to remind me of how meh the later season of Buffy get. Also, the Angel season 4 storyline was complete ass. And very oedipal. I loved Cordelia, and then that season happened. Season 7 of Buffy was my least favorite on that show, and they happened at the same time. Coincidence? Probably.
Side Note: I showed a scene from "Welcome to the Hellmouth" to my high school students, to give them a taste of what US high schools were like (at least 12 year old Hollywood high schools) and I was struck by just how adorable Sarah Michelle Gellar was, as compared to the skeleton she became in later seasons. She was so curvy and cute in the first season.
Re: Merlin. Oh, I loved you show. I truly did. But really... do you have to ignore my favorite character so badly? I know the next episode I need to watch is pretty Morgana heavy, but I can't bring myself to watch it, since I'm not sure I'll like where the character is going.
For some reason, I have neither a Buffy or Angel icon, nor a Merlin icon. Enjoy some Firefly instead.
