[Ever since Ven returned to the village he's been on-edge... to put it lightly. Between the draft and his encounter with Vanitas, he's not only exhausted, but pretty scared at this point.

That's why, as he's making his way through the village and back towards his house, he's carrying his Keyblade with him and stopping occasionally just to make ( Read more... )

[ The fact that they send children into fight is something Helios will never understand or forgive. ] It'd be so much easier if this could be settled by talking. I do ever so hate fighting, but sometimes...it can't be helped.

I only like fighting if there's a reason for it. It shouldn't be the answer to everything.

Not at all. Senseless violence never solves much of anything. But knowing that there's people to protect here--it makes it a bit easier having to do such things.

Exactly. I like being able to help people, but then there's the people who have fun hurting others. I'll never understand that.

Sadly I wish I could tell you why. But I'm at a loss as to why people do it either. But you're very brave and a good friend for going out and fighting for those close to you.

Thanks. My friends mean a lot to me, so I wanna do my best to protect them whenever I can.

[A beat.]

Name's Ventus, by the way. Ven for short.

Well it's only natural to want to do so. Especially in this place, sometimes friends become close enough to regard as family. [ A pause as he gives his name. ]

Ventus...ah! Like the word for wind. [ Interesting name though Helios has one as well. ]

I'm Helios Sprensonne, it's a pleasure to meet you Ventus. Or would you prefer Ven?

Yup, that's exactly what it means!

[He laughs.]

It's nice to meet you, Helios! And you can call me Ven; all my friends do.

It seems we both have interesting names. Mine means sun. [ An amused chuckle. ]

Ven it is then! I'm curious...you mentioned Unversed. What are they exactly?

Really? That is cool!

[Ah, names with meanings. Always nifty.]

Unversed are a type of monster. They come in all kinds of shapes in sizes, but they're all really dangerous.

Ah I believe that makes both of us cool, doesn't it? [ There's a smile in his voice which is easily discernible. He's trying to be hip okay? ] Mm a lot of names from my world usually mean something. It's rather interesting figure out what exactly.

Monsters...I see. And you fight them? But you sound rather young to be doing such things.

Well, I've been training for as long as I can remember. I'm not as experienced as my friends, but I still wanna help them in any way I can.

Experience does take time to acquire, true. But any little bit of help can make all the difference.

I--I suppose these Unversed cannot be reasoned with, can they?

No, I don't think so. Every time I ran into 'em, they attacked, and they didn't hold back.
