splendor in the grass

If you were to guess that I was very, very excited when I saw these scans of Zooey and Joe from InStyle Magazine, you would be correct. Now multiply that excitement by at least 35 and you'll get the reaction I had when I finally saw the pages in person at Borders. THEY WERE HOLDING HANDS! But you couldn't really see it because of the divide in the middle of the magazine, thus depriving me of the hands touching! To which I said, "Fuck you, stupid divide, and give me a freaking pull-out poster like in Tiger Beat while you're at it!" See, this is what these two do to me; they make me devolve into a ridiculous teenybopper who wants to plaster pictures of them on my walls and school locker and who rambles on nonsensically! Anyway, since I can't seem to find any decent unmarked images, and because every Joe/Zooey picture is precious, I bought the magazine, dissected it and pulled out the relevant pages, scanned them, and then fixed the picture up so you can see it the way it's meant to be seen. Because I use both my money and my time wisely.

THEIR ADORABLENESS IS SO POTENT THAT IT COULD VERY WELL BREAK THE INTERNETS! I CAN HARDLY STAND IT! BTW, feel free to use the image for graphics and whatnot, but please, please credit me if you do. I spent a lot of time editing it, so it's kind of like my baby now.

While I'm on the subject of J/Z-related adventures in Photoshop, here's version 2.0 of the manip that I made earlier for Emily's fanmix:

Full size

She chose the other manip for the cover because Zooey's face there was a better fit with the overall theme of the mix, and I was inclined to agree. But just look at her hair here; it's almost on par with a Disney princess, it's so pretty. I'd hate her and be frighteningly jealous of her if I didn't love her so much.

Now, an important question: If I were to create a Joe/Zooey community, would anyone besides underhand_glory (I can always count on you, right, darling?) join it? Please say yes, because I'm about three clicks from doing it right now.

In other, non-obsessive news: I've been really off of my game, baking-wise. The cheddar cheese scones and sugar cookies that I made this week were bland and had a strange aftertaste, respectively. It's such a crummy feeling, having put in all of that time and effort, anticipating yummy things to come out of the oven, and then ending up with subpar baked goods. Boo. At least the cupcakes (vanilla with strawberry frosting) I made last week for my cousin Kelly's birthday were decent.

food, arty (so very), joe/zo(oey): rhyming names equal love
